All uses of in_template_function except for the one in cp_make_fname_decl
seem like they could be generalized to consider any template context.
To that end this patch replaces the predicate with a generalized
in_template_context predicate that returns true if we're inside any
template context. If we legitimately need to consider only function
contexts, as in cp_make_fname_decl, we can just additionally check e.g.
current_function_decl.
One concrete benefit of this, which the adjusted testcase below
demonstrates, is that we no longer instantiate/odr-use entities based on
uses within a non-function template.

A bug in the simplification I did around 91618; at this point X<int>::f has
DECL_IMPLICIT_INSTANTIATION set, but we've already identified what template
it corresponds to, so we don't want to call check_explicit_specialization.
To distinguish this case we need to look at DECL_TI_TEMPLATE. grokfndecl
has for a long time set it to the OVERLOAD in this case, while the new cases
I added for 91618 were leaving DECL_TEMPLATE_INFO null; let's adjust them to
match.

Here friend matching tries to find a matching non-template friend and fails,
so we mark the friend as a template specialization to be determined later.
Then cplus_decl_attributes tries again to find a matching function and gets
confused by DECL_TEMPLATE_INSTANTIATION without DECL_TEMPLATE_INFO. But it
doesn't make sense for find_last_decl to be trying to match anything with
DECL_USE_TEMPLATE set; those are matched elsewhere.

The following testcase ICEs, because grok_array_decl during
processing_template_decl handling of a non-dependent subscript
emits a -Wcomma-subscript pedwarn, we decide to pass to the
single index argument the index expressions as if it was wrapped
with () around it, but then when preparing it for later instantiation
we don't actually take that into account and ICE on a mismatch of
number of index arguments (the overload expects a single index,
testcase has two index expressions in this case).
For non-dependent subscript which are builtin subscripts we also
emit the same pedwarn and don't ICE, but emit the same pedwarn
again whenever we instantiate it, which is also IMHO undesirable,
it is enough to warn once during parsing the template.
The following patch fixes it by turning even the original index expressions
(those which didn't go through make_args_non_dependent) into a single
index using comma expression(s).

In 107897, by the time we are looking at the mangling clash, the
alias has already been removed from the symbol table by analyze_functions,
so we can't look at n->cpp_implicit_alias. So just assume that it's an
alias if it's internal.
In 108887 the problem is that removing the mangling alias from the symbol
table confuses analyze_functions, because it ended up as first_analyzed
somehow, so it becomes a dangling pointer. So instead we call reset()
to neutralize the alias. To make this work for variables, I needed to move
reset() from cgraph_node to symtab_node.

The following two testcases are miscompiled, because we keep TREE_READONLY
on the vars even when they are (possibly) dynamically initialized by a TLS
wrapper function. Normally cp_finish_decl drops TREE_READONLY from vars
which need dynamic initialization, but for TLS we do this kind of
initialization upon every access to those variables. Keeping them
TREE_READONLY means e.g. PRE can hoist loads from those before loops
which contain the TLS wrapper calls, so we can access the TLS variables
before they are initialized.

In my recent rtti.cc change I assumed when emitting the support tinfos
that the tinfos for the fundamental types haven't been created yet.
Normally (in libsupc++.a (fundamental_type_info.o)) that is the case,
but as can be seen on the testcase, one can violate it by using typeid
etc. in the same TU and do it before ~__fundamental_type_info ()
definition.
The following patch fixes that by popping from unemitted_tinfo_decls
only in the normal case when it is there, and treating non-NULL
DECL_INITIAL on a tinfo node as indication that emit_tinfo_decl has
processed it already.

We typically ignore mark_used failure when in a non-SFINAE context for
sake of better error recovery. But in mark_single_function we're
instead ignoring mark_used failure in a SFINAE context, which ends up
causing the second static_assert here to incorrectly fail.

Implement the P1492 versions of contracts, along with extensions that
support the emulation of N4820 and other proposals. This implementation
assigns a concrete semantic (one of: ignore, assume, enforce, or
observe) to each contract attribute depending on its labels and
configuration options.

We're rejecting the below testcase with
error: 'virtual constexpr Base::~Base()' used before its definition
error: 'virtual constexpr Derived::~Derived()' used before its definition
due to special handling in mark_used added by r181272 to defer synthesis
of virtual destructors until EOF (where we can set their linkage), which
in turn makes them effectively unusable during constexpr evaluation.
Fortunately it seems this special handling is unnecessary ever since
r208030 enabled us to tentatively set linkage of all defaulted virtual
destructors, including templated ones. So this patch gets rid of this
special handling.

The following patch adds support for the begin declare target construct,
which is another spelling for declare target construct without clauses
(where it needs paired end declare target), but unlike that one accepts
clauses.
This is an OpenMP 5.1 feature, implemented with 5.2 clarification because
in 5.1 we had a restriction in the declare target chapter shared by
declare target and begin declare target that if there are any clauses
specified at least one of them needs to be to or link. But that
was of course meant just for declare target and not begin declare target,
because begin declare target doesn't even allow to/link/enter clauses.
In addition to that, the patch also makes device_type clause duplication
an error (as stated in 5.1) and similarly makes declare target with
just device_type clause an error rather than warning.
What this patch doesn't do is:
1) OpenMP 5.1 also added an indirect clause, we don't support that
neither on declare target nor begin declare target
and I couldn't find it in our features pages (neither libgomp.texi
nor web)
2) I think device_type(nohost)/device_type(host) support can't work for
variables (in 5.0 it only talked about procedures so this could be
also thought as 5.1 feature that we should just add to the list
and implement)
3) I don't see any use of the "omp declare target nohost" attribute, so
I'm not sure if device_type(nohost) works at all

Since C++11 relaxed the requirement for template arguments to have
external linkage, it's possible to get -Wsubobject-linkage warnings
without using any anonymous namespaces. This confuses users when they
get diagnostics that refer to an anonymous namespace that doesn't exist
in their code.
This changes the diagnostic to say "has internal linkage" for C++11 and
later, if the type isn't actually a member of the anonymous namespace.
Making that distinction involved renaming the current decl_anon_ns_mem_p to
something that better expresses its semantics.
For C++98 template arguments declared with 'static' are ill-formed
anyway, so the only way this warning can arise is via anonymous
namespaces. That means the existing wording is accurate for C++98 and so
we can keep it.

Here the use of 'value' from within an unevaluated context causes us
to overeagerly instantiate it, via maybe_instantiate_decl called from
mark_used, despite the use occurring in a context that doesn't require
a definition.
This seems to only affect constexpr variable specializations, though
we used to have the same issue for constexpr function specializations
until r6-1309-g81371eff9bc7ef made us delay their instantiation until
necessary during constexpr evaluation.
This patch expands upon the r6-1309 fix to make mark_used avoid
unnecessarily instantiating constexpr variable specializations too,
by pulling out from maybe_instantiate_decl the condition
(decl_maybe_constant_var_p (decl)
|| (TREE_CODE (decl) == FUNCTION_DECL
&& DECL_OMP_DECLARE_REDUCTION_P (decl))
|| undeduced_auto_decl (decl))
into each of its three callers (including mark_used), removing the

seems to be safe because during constexpr evaluation we already take
care to instantiate a constexpr variable as necessary via

There's no point adding no-op initializer fns (that a module might
have) to the static initializer list. Also, we can add any objc
initializer call to a partial initializer function and simplify some
control flow.

To add a module initializer optimization, we need to defer finishing writing
out the module file until the end of determining the dynamic initializers.
This is achieved by passing some saved-state from the main module writing
to a new function that completes it.
This patch merely adds the skeleton of that state and move things around,
allowing the finalization of the ELF file to be postponed. None of the
contents writing is moved, or the init optimization added.

Currently we generate static init/fini code by generating a set of
functions taking an 'initp' bool and an unsigned priority. (There can
be more than one, as we repeat the end-of-compile loop.) We then
generate a set of real init or fini functions for each needed
prioroty, calling the previous set of functions. This is of course
very tangled, but excitingly the value-range-propagator is clever
enough to unentangle it. However, the current arrangement makes
generation awkward, particularly as to how to optimize the
module-global-init generation.
This reimplements the generation to generate a set of separate
init/fini functions for each needed priority, and then call them from
the real inits previously mentioned. This replaces a splay tree,
recording which priority/init combos we needed, with a pair of hash
tables, mapping priority to init functions. Much simpler.
While there, rename several of the functions as they are only dealing
with part of the init/fini generation, not the whole set.

The end-of-compilation static init code generation functions are:
* Inconsistent in argument ordering (swapping 'is-init' and 'priority',
wrt each other and other arguments).
* Inconsistent in naming. mostly calling the is-init argument 'initp',
but sometimes calling it 'constructor_p' and in the worst case using
a transcoded 'methody_type' character, and naming the priority
argument 'initp'.
* Inconsistent in typing. Sometimes the priority is unsigned,
sometimes signed. And the initp argument can of course be a bool.
* Several of the function comments have bit-rotted.
This addresses those oddities. Name is-init 'initp', name priority
'priority'. Place initp first, make priority unsigned.

Since my patch for PR90451, we defer mark_used of single functions as late
as possible. And since my r12-1273, we keep BASELINK from lookup around
rather than reconstruct it later. These both made us try to instantiate g
with a function type that still had 'auto' as its return type.

constant evaluation [PR105233]
The following testcase fails, because we only constant evaluate the
alignas argument as non-manifestly constant-evaluated and as
__builtin_is_constant_evaluated appears, we make it non-constant
(the reason is that we often try to evaluate some expression without
manifestly_const_eval perhaps even multiple times before actually
evaluating it with manifestly_const_eval (e.g. when folding for warnings
and in many other places), and we don't want __builtin_is_constant_evaluated
to evaluate to false in those cases, because we could get a different
result from when we actually evaluate it with manifestly_const_eval
set).
Now, for alignas the standard seems to be clear, it says the
argument is constant-expression, which means we should
manifestly-constant-eval it.
Attributes are a fuzzy area, they are extensions and various attributes
take e.g. identifiers, or string literals etc. as arguments.
Either we can just treat alignas as manifestly-const-eval, for that
we'd need some way how to differentiate between alignas and gnu::aligned
or aligned attribute.
Another possibility is what the patch below implements, treat
both alignas and gnu::aligned and aligned attribute's argument as
manifestly-const-eval and not do that for other attributes.
Another is to go through all attributes and figure out for which
such treatment is useful (e.g. those that expect INTEGER_CST as argument),
and either add a new column in the attribute table or have another table
in the C++ FE to find out which attribute needs that.
Another is do that for all the attribute arguments that are EXPR_P
and see what breaks (bet that it could be quite risky this late in
GCC 12 cycle and especially for backporting).

There were two problems with this testcase: we weren't copying the target
attribute from the second declaration to the global alias for the first
one (duplicate_decls hunk), and then we were treating the third one as
matching the earlier one even though both are versioned (decls_match hunk).
The latter change required a fix to find_last_decl (used for attribute
mismatch warnings) to give up if we see a versioned function, as in that
case we can't determine whether the decls match, because we are still in the
process of setting the attributes on the new decl.

This rule that for a friend with a qualified name we try to find a
matching template was already in C++98, but it seems we never implemented
it, and nobody reported it until 2019.
This patch sets DECL_IMPLICIT_INSTANTIATION to signal to
check_explicit_specialization that we want to find a template, like
grokfndecl already did for explicit template args. check_classfn also needs
to call it, as check_classfn is called after the call to
check_explicit_specialization in grokfndecl, whereas the call to
set_decl_namespace comes sooner. This inconsistency is inelegant, but safer
at this point in the release cycle; I'll unify them in stage 1.

cplus_decl_attributes can be called with attributes equal to
error_mark_node, there are some spots in the function that test
it or decl_attributes it calls starts with:

But the recent PR104245 change broke this when processing_template_decl
is true.

When processing a template, the enumerators we build don't have a type
yet. But is_late_template_attribute is not prepared to see a _DECL
without a type, so we crash on

We were getting the deprecated warning twice for the same call because we
called mark_used first in finish_qualified_id_expr and then again in
build_over_call. Let's not call it the first time; C++17 clarified that a
function is used only when it is selected from an overload set, which
happens later.
Then I had to add a few more uses in places that don't do anything further
with the expression (convert_to_void, finish_decltype_type), and places that
use the expression more unusually (cp_build_addr_expr_1,
convert_nontype_argument). The new mark_single_function is mostly so
that I only have to put the comment in one place.

Here we're failing to instantiate the defaulted comparison op's
explicit dependent noexcept-spec. The problem is ultimately that
mark_used relies on maybe_instantiate_noexcept to synthesize a defaulted
comparison op, but the relevant DECL_MAYBE_DELETED fn handling in m_i_n
is intended for such functions whose noexcept-spec wasn't explicitly
provided (and is therefore determined via synthesis), so m_i_n just
exits early afterwards, without considering that the synthesized fn may
have an explicit noexcept-spec that needs instantiating.
This patch fixes this issue by making mark_used directly synthesize a
DECL_MAYBE_DELETED fn before calling maybe_instantiate_noexcept. And
in turn, we can properly restrict the DECL_MAYBE_DELETED fn synthesis
in m_i_n to only those without an explicit noexcept-spec.

A flaw in my patch for PR51344 was that cplus_decl_attributes calls
decl_attributes after save_template_attributes, which messes up the ordering

Here when attempting to use B's implicitly deleted default constructor,
mark_used rightfully returns false, but for the wrong reason: it
tries to instantiate the synthesized noexcept specifier which then only
silently fails because get_defaulted_eh_spec suppresses diagnostics
for deleted functions. This lack of diagnostics causes us to crash on
the first testcase below (thanks to the assert in finish_expr_stmt), and
silently accept the second testcase.
To fix this, this patch makes mark_used avoid attempting to instantiate
the noexcept specifier of a deleted function, so that we'll instead
directly reject (and diagnose) the function due to its deletedness.
