2022-01-11c++: Fix ICEs with OBJ_TYPE_REF pretty printing [PR101597]Jakub Jelinek1-1/+2
The following testcase ICEs, because middle-end uses the C++ FE pretty printing code through langhooks in the diagnostics. The FE expects OBJ_TYPE_REF_OBJECT's type to be useful (pointer to the class type it is called on), but in the middle-end conversions between pointer types are useless, so the actual type can be some random unrelated pointer type (in the testcase void * pointer). The pretty printing code then ICEs on it. The following patch fixes that by sticking the original OBJ_TYPE_REF_OBJECT's also as type of OBJ_TYPE_REF_TOKEN operand. That one must be an INTEGER_CST, all the current uses of OBJ_TYPE_REF_TOKEN just use tree_to_uhwi or tree_to_shwi on it, and because it is constant, there is no risk of the middle-end propagating into it some other pointer type. So, approach similar to how MEM_REF treats its second operand or a couple of internal functions (e.g. IFN_VA_ARG) some of its parameters. 2022-01-11 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> PR c++/101597 gcc/ * tree.def (OBJ_TYPE_REF): Document type of OBJ_TYPE_REF_TOKEN. gcc/cp/ * class.c (build_vfn_ref): Build OBJ_TYPE_REF with INTEGER_CST OBJ_TYPE_REF_TOKEN with type equal to OBJ_TYPE_REF_OBJECT type. * error.c (resolve_virtual_fun_from_obj_type_ref): Use type of OBJ_TYPE_REF_TOKEN rather than type of OBJ_TYPE_REF_OBJECT as obj_type. gcc/objc/ * objc-act.c (objc_rewrite_function_call): Build OBJ_TYPE_REF with INTEGER_CST OBJ_TYPE_REF_TOKEN with type equal to OBJ_TYPE_REF_OBJECT type. * objc-next-runtime-abi-01.c (build_objc_method_call): Likewise. * objc-gnu-runtime-abi-01.c (build_objc_method_call): Likewise. * objc-next-runtime-abi-02.c (build_v2_objc_method_fixup_call, build_v2_build_objc_method_call): Likewise. gcc/testsuite/ * g++.dg/opt/pr101597.C: New test.

2021-12-16c++: layout of aggregate base with DMI [PR103681]Jason Merrill1-41/+104
C++14 changed the definition of 'aggregate' to allow default member initializers, but such classes still need to be considered "non-POD for the purpose of layout" for ABI compatibility with C++11 code. It seems rare to derive from such a class, as evidenced by how long this bug has survived (since r216750 in 2014), but it's certainly worth fixing. We only warn when we were failing to allocate another field into the tail padding of the newly aggregate class; this is the only ABI impact. This also changes end_of_class to consider all data members, not just empty data members; that used to be an additional flag, removed in r9-5710, but I don't see any reason not to always include them. This makes the result of the function correspond to the ABI nvsize term and its nameless counterpart that does include virtual bases. When looking closely at other users of end_of_class, I realized that we were assuming that the latter corresponded to the ABI dsize term, but it doesn't if the class ends with an empty virtual base (in the rare case that the empty base can't be assigned offset 0), and this matters for layout of [[no_unique_address]]. So I added another mode that returns the desired value for that case. I'm not adding a warning for this ABI fix because it's a C++20 feature. PR c++/103681 gcc/ChangeLog: * common.opt (fabi-version): Add v17. gcc/cp/ChangeLog: * cp-tree.h (struct lang_type): Add non_pod_aggregate. 2021-11-15c++: Add -fimplicit-constexprJason Merrill1-3/+8
With each successive C++ standard the restrictions on the use of the constexpr keyword for functions get weaker and weaker; it recently occurred to me that it is heading toward the same fate as the C register keyword, which was once useful for optimization but became obsolete. Similarly, it seems to me that we should be able to just treat inlines as constexpr functions and not make people add the extra keyword everywhere. There were a lot of testcase changes needed; many disabling errors about non-constexpr functions that are now constexpr, and many disabling implicit constexpr so that the tests can check the same thing as before, whether that's mangling or whatever. gcc/c-family/ChangeLog: * c.opt: Add -fimplicit-constexpr. * c-cppbuiltin.c: Define __cpp_implicit_constexpr. * c-opts.c (c_common_post_options): Disable below C++14. gcc/cp/ChangeLog: * cp-tree.h (struct lang_decl_fn): Add implicit_constexpr. As Jason noticed in <https://gcc.gnu.org/pipermail/gcc-patches/2021-November/583592.html>, we shouldn't require an initializer for an unnamed bit-field, because, as [class.bit] says, they cannot be initialized. gcc/cp/ChangeLog: * class.c (default_init_uninitialized_part): Use next_initializable_field. * method.c (walk_field_subobs): Skip unnamed bit-fields. gcc/testsuite/ChangeLog: * g++.dg/init/bitfield6.C: New test.
2021-10-15c++: array cv-quals and template specialization [PR101402]Jason Merrill1-1/+1
PRs 101402, 102033, etc. demonstrated that the fix for PR92010 wasn't handling all cases of the CWG1001/1322 issue with parameter type qual stripping and arrays with templates. The problem turned out to be in determine_specialization, which did an extra substitution without the 92010 fix and then complained that the result didn't match. But just removing that wrong/redundant code meant that we were accepting specializations with different numbers of parameters, because the code in fn_type_unification that compares types in this case wasn't checking for length mismatch. After fixing that, I realized that fn_type_unification couldn't tell the difference between variadic and non-variadic function types, because the args array doesn't include the terminal void we use to indicate non-variadic function type. So I added it, and made the necessary adjustments. Thanks to qingzhe "nick" huang <nickhuang99@hotmail.com> for the patch that led me to dig more into this, and the extensive testcases. 2021-10-05c++: defaulted <=> with bitfields [PR102490]Jakub Jelinek1-1/+12
The testcases in the patch are either miscompiled or ICE with checking, because the defaulted operator== is synthesized too early (but only if constexpr), when the corresponding class type is still incomplete type. The problem is that at that point the bitfield FIELD_DECLs still have as TREE_TYPE their underlying type rather than integral type with their precision and when layout_class_type is called for the class soon after that, it changes those types but the COMPONENT_REFs type stay the way that they were during the operator== synthesize_method type and the middle-end is then upset by the mismatch of types. As what exact type will be given isn't just a one liner but quite long code especially for over-sized bitfields, I think it is best to just not synthesize the comparison operators so early and call defaulted_late_check for them once again as soon as the class is complete. This is also a problem for virtual operator<=>, where we need to compare the noexcept-specifier to validate the override before the class is complete. Rather than try to defer that comparison, maybe_instantiate_noexcept now calls maybe_synthesize_method, which calls build_comparison_op in non-defining mode if the class isn't complete yet. In that situation we also might not have base fields yet, so we look in the binfo for the bases. 2021-09-03c++, abi: Set DECL_FIELD_CXX_ZERO_WIDTH_BIT_FIELD on C++ zero width ↵Jakub Jelinek1-2/+19
bitfields [PR102024] The removal of remove_zero_width_bitfields function and its call from C++ FE layout_class_type (which I've done in the P0466R5 layout-compatible helper intrinsics patch, so that the FE can actually determine what is and isn't layout-compatible according to the spec) unfortunately changed the ABI on various platforms. The C FE has been keeping zero-width bitfields in the types, while the C++ FE has been removing them after structure layout, so in various cases when passing such structures in registers we had different ABI between C and C++. While both the C and C++ FE had some code to remove zero width bitfields after structure layout, in both FEs it was buggy and didn't really remove any. In the C FE that code has been removed later on, while in the C++ FE for GCC 4.5 in PR42217 it has been actually fixed, so the C++ FE started to remove those bitfields. The following patch doesn't change anything ABI-wise, but allows the targets to decide what to do, emit -Wpsabi warnings etc. Non-C zero width bitfields will be seen by the backends as normal zero width bitfields, C++ zero width bitfields that used to be previously removed will have DECL_FIELD_CXX_ZERO_WIDTH_BIT_FIELD flag set. I've reused the DECL_FIELD_ABI_IGNORED flag which is only used on non-bitfield FIELD_DECLs right now, but the macros now check DECL_BIT_FIELD flag. Each backend can then decide what it wants, whether it wants to keep different ABI between C and C++ as in GCC 11 and older (i.e. incompatible with G++ <= 4.4, compatible with G++ 4.5 .. 11), for that it would ignore for the aggregate passing/returning decisions all DECL_FIELD_CXX_ZERO_WIDTH_BIT_FIELD FIELD_DECLs), whether it wants to never ignore zero width bitfields (no changes needed for that case, except perhaps -Wpsabi warning should be added and for that DECL_FIELD_CXX_ZERO_WIDTH_BIT_FIELD can be tested), or whether it wants to always ignore zero width bitfields (I think e.g. riscv in GCC 10+ does that). All this patch does is set the flag which the backends can then use. 2021-09-03 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> PR target/102024 gcc/ * tree.h (DECL_FIELD_ABI_IGNORED): Changed into rvalue only macro that is false if DECL_BIT_FIELD. 2021-09-01C-family: Add attribute 'unavailable'.Iain Sandoe1-0/+2
If an interface is marked 'deprecated' then, presumably, at some point it will be withdrawn and no longer available. The 'unavailable' attribute makes it possible to mark up interfaces to indicate this status. It is used quite extensively in some codebases where a single set of headers can be used to permit code generation for multiple system versions. From a configuration perspective, it also allows a compile test to determine that an interface is missing - rather than requiring a link test. The implementation follows the pattern of attribute deprecated, but produces an error (where deprecation produces a warning). This attribute has been implemented in clang for some years. 2021-08-17c++: Implement P0466R5 __cpp_lib_is_layout_compatible compiler helpers ↵Jakub Jelinek1-30/+0
[PR101539] The following patch implements __is_layout_compatible trait and __builtin_is_corresponding_member helper function for the std::is_corresponding_member template function. As the current definition of layout compatible type has various problems, which result e.g. in corresponding members in layout compatible types having different member offsets, the patch anticipates some changes to the C++ standard: 1) class or enumeral types aren't layout compatible if they have different alignment or size 2) if two members have different offsets, they can't be corresponding members ([[no_unique_address]] with empty types can change that, or alignas on the member decls) 3) in unions, bitfields can't correspond to non-unions, or bitfields can't correspond to bitfields with different widths, or members with [[no_unique_address]] can't correspond to members without that attribute __builtin_is_corresponding_member for anonymous structs (GCC extension) will recurse into the anonymous structs. For anonymous unions it will emit a sorry if it can't prove such member types can't appear in the anonymous unions or anonymous aggregates in that union, because corresponding member is defined only using common initial sequence which is only defined for std-layout non-union class types and so I have no idea what to do otherwise in that case. 2021-08-17 Jakub Jelinek <jakub@redhat.com> PR c++/101539 gcc/c-family/ * c-common.h (enum rid): Add RID_IS_LAYOUT_COMPATIBLE. * c-common.c (c_common_reswords): Add __is_layout_compatible. gcc/cp/ * cp-tree.h (enum cp_trait_kind): Add CPTK_IS_LAYOUT_COMPATIBLE. 2021-06-26c++: constexpr aggr init of empty class [PR101040]Jason Merrill1-1/+1
This is basically the aggregate initializer version of PR97566; as in that bug, we are trying to initialize empty field 'obj' in 'single' when there's no CONSTRUCTOR entry for the 'single' base class subobject of 'derived'. 2021-06-03c++: using-enum and access specifiers [PR100862]Patrick Palka1-0/+15
When copying the enumerators imported by a class-scope using-enum declaration, we need to override current_access_specifier so that finish_member_declaration gives the copies the same access as the using-enum decl. (A class-scope using-enum is processed late, so current_access_specifier at this point is otherwise set to the last access specifier within the class.) I haven't removed cp_build_function_call although it is also currently unused. * lambda_return_type: was used in parser.c in GCC 7, unused since r255950, * classtype_has_non_deleted_copy_ctor: appeared in GCC 10, its usage was removed in c++/95350, * contains_wildcard_p: used in GCC 9, unused since r276764, * get_template_head_requirements: seems to never have been used, * check_constrained_friend: seems to never have been used, * subsumes_constraints: unused since r276764, * push_void_library_fn: usage removed in r248328, * get_template_parms_at_level: unused since r157857, * get_pattern_parm: unused since r275387. 2021-05-01c++: C++11 range-for and ovl/lkp_iteratorJason Merrill1-25/+20
We can't use C++11 range-based 'for' over a tree directly, because we don't know what kind of range we want to use it as. I suppose in some cases we could guess, but it seems better to tersely make it explicit. This patch adds range adaptors ovl_range and lkp_range for use as the range of a range-for, e.g. for (tree fn : lkp_range (fns)) { ... } This patch also removes the private copy ops from ovl_iterator; it's necessary for range-for, and these are effectively C++ forward_iterators, which allow copying, so I don't see a reason to prevent it. A bit more would need to be done to make them actually conform as C++11 forward iterators, but I don't think we particularly want to #include <iterator> yet. gcc/cp/ChangeLog: * cp-tree.h (class ovl_iterator): Allow copying. Add op==. (class ovl_range, class lkp_range): New. * call.c (build_op_call_1, add_candidates): Use them. (build_op_delete_call, has_trivial_copy_assign_p): Likewise. 2021-04-29c++: Fix friend attributes [PR51344]Jason Merrill1-1/+1
51344 was a problem with calling save_template_attributes twice for the same friend function: once from do_friend and once from grokmethod. The 2012 patch for the bug avoided creating an infinite loop when this happens, but it's better to avoid the duplication in the first place. This also restores the dependent attributes to the beginning of the attribute list, as originally intended. And then apply_late_template_attributes can avoid copying the non-dependent attributes. gcc/cp/ChangeLog: PR c++/51344 * decl2.c (grokfield): Call cplus_decl_attributes for friend. 2021-04-01c++: Add ABI version for PR98481 fixJason Merrill1-3/+3
The PR98481 fix corrects an ABI regression in GCC 10, but we don't want to introduce an ABI change in the middle of the GCC 10 cycle. 2021-03-01c++: Completeness of typedef structs [PR 99294]Nathan Sidwell1-18/+28
When we read in a class definition, we use fixup_type_variants to propagate the now-completed fields of the class's TYPE to other variants. Unfortunately that doesn't propagate all of them, and in this case we had a typedef to an (incomplete) instantiation. That typedef ended up with a VOIDmode, which blew up gimple expansion as the type itself isn't VOID. Without modules, that information is propagated in finalize_type_size when laying out the class. But that doesn't happen with stream-in -- we already know the layout. There is already some overlap between the two functions, now there's a bit more. In fixup_type_variants, I pay attention to the TYPE_NAME to decide whether to override a user's TYPE_ALIGN -- variants of the main-variant typedef just copy the main-variant. Other variants recalculate. Overaligning is still permitted. I also added a TYPE_ALIGN_RAW accessor, and fixed a bug in the alignment streaming I noticed. I did not refactor TYPE_ALIGN beyond using the new accessor. (It could be written as ((1 << align_raw) >> 1), rather than use the conditional.) PR c++/99294 gcc/ * tree.h (TYPE_ALIGN_RAW): New accessor. (TYPE_ALIGN): Use it. gcc/cp/ * class.c (fixup_type_variants): Propagate mode, precision, alignment & emptiness. * module.cc (trees_out::type_node): Use TYPE_ALIGN_RAW. 2021-01-26c++: constexpr and empty fields [PR97566]Jason Merrill1-6/+25
In the discussion of PR98463, Jakub pointed out that in C++17 and up, cxx_fold_indirect_ref_1 could use the field we build for an empty base. I tried implementing that, but it broke one of the tuple tests, so I did some more digging. To start with, I generalized the PR98463 patch to handle the case where we do have a field, for an empty base or [[no_unique_address]] member. This is enough also for the no-field case because the member of the empty base must itself be an empty field; if it weren't, the base would not be empty. I looked for related PRs and found 97566, which was also fixed by the patch. After some poking around to figure out why, I noticed that the testcase had been breaking because E, though an empty class, has an ABI nvsize of one byte, and we were giving the [[no_unique_address]] FIELD_DECL that DECL_SIZE, whereas in build_base_field_1 empty base fields always get DECL_SIZE zero, and various places were relying on that to recognize empty fields. So I adjusted both the size and the checking. When I adjusted check_bases I wondered if we were correctly handling bases with only empty data members, but it appears we do. I'm deferring the cxx_fold_indirect_ref_1 change until stage 1, as I don't think it actually fixes anything. gcc/cp/ChangeLog: PR c++/97566 PR c++/98463 * class.c (layout_class_type): An empty field gets size 0. 2021-01-11c++, abi: Fix abi_tag attribute handling [PR98481]Jakub Jelinek1-0/+8
In GCC10 cp_walk_subtrees has been changed to walk template arguments. As the following testcase, that changed the mangling of some functions. I believe the previous behavior that find_abi_tags_r doesn't recurse into template args has been the correct one, but setting *walk_subtrees = 0 for the types and handling the types subtree walking manually in find_abi_tags_r looks too hard, there are a lot of subtrees and details what should and shouldn't be walked, both in tree.c (walk_type_fields there, which is static) and in cp_walk_subtrees itself. The following patch abuses the fact that *walk_subtrees is an int to tell cp_walk_subtrees it shouldn't walk the template args. Co-authored-by: Jason Merrill <jason@redhat.com> gcc/cp/ChangeLog: PR c++/98481 * class.c (find_abi_tags_r): Set *walk_subtrees to 2 instead of 1 for types. 2020-12-08c++: template and clone fns for modulesNathan Sidwell1-1/+1
We need to expose build_cdtor_clones, it fortunately has the desired API -- gosh, how did that happen? :) The template machinery will need to cache path-of-instantiation information, so add two more fields to the tinst_level struct. I also had to adjust the match_mergeable_specialization API since adding it, so including that change too. gcc/cp/ * cp-tree.h (struct tinst_level): Add path & visible fields. 2020-11-13c++: Implement C++20 'using enum'. [PR91367]Jason Merrill1-0/+17
This feature allows the programmer to import enumerator names into the current scope so later mentions don't need to use the fully-qualified name. These usings are not subject to the usual restrictions on using-decls: in particular, they can move between class and non-class scopes, and between classes that are not related by inheritance. This last caused difficulty for our normal approach to using-decls within a class hierarchy, as we assume that the class where we looked up a used declaration is derived from the class where it was first declared. So to simplify things, in that case we make a clone of the CONST_DECL in the using class. Thanks to Nathan for the start of this work: in particular, the lookup_using_decl rewrite. The changes to dwarf2out revealed an existing issue with the D front-end: we were doing the wrong thing for importing a D CONST_DECL, because dwarf2out_imported_module_or_decl_1 was looking through it to its type, expecting it to be an enumerator, but in one case in thread.d, the constant had type int. Adding the ability to import a C++ enumerator also fixed that, but that led to a crash in force_decl_die, which didn't know what to do with a CONST_DECL. So now it does. 2020-11-02c++: Don't purge the satisfaction cachesPatrick Palka1-3/+0
The adoption of P2104 ("Disallow changing concept values") means we can memoize the result of satisfaction indefinitely and no longer have to clear the satisfaction caches on various events that would affect satisfaction. To that end, this patch removes the invalidation routine clear_satisfaction_cache and adjusts its callers appropriately. This provides a large reduction in compile time and memory use in some cases. For example, on the libstdc++ test std/ranges/adaptor/join.cc, compile time and memory usage drops nearly 75%, from 7.5s/770MB to 2s/230MB, with a --enable-checking=release compiler. gcc/cp/ChangeLog: * class.c (finish_struct_1): Don't call clear_satisfaction_cache. * constexpr.c (clear_cv_and_fold_caches): Likewise. 2020-10-14c++: DECL_FRIEND_P cleanupNathan Sidwell1-2/+3
DECL_FRIEND_P's meaning has changed over time. It now (almost) means the the friend function decl has not been met via an explicit decl. This completes that transition, renaming it to DECL_UNIQUE_FRIEND_P, so one doesn't think it is the sole indicator of friendliness (plenty of friends do not have the flag set). 2020-10-02c++: cleanup ctor_omit_inherited_parms [PR97268]Nathan Sidwell1-126/+133
ctor_omit_inherited_parms was being somewhat abused. What I'd missed is that it checks for a base-dtor name, before proceeding with the check. But we ended up passing it that during cloning before we'd completed the cloning. It was also using DECL_ORIGIN to get to the in-charge ctor, but we sometimes zap DECL_ABSTRACT_ORIGIN, and it ends up processing the incoming function -- which happens to work. so, this breaks out a predicate that expects to get the incharge ctor, and will tell you whether its base ctor will need to omit the parms. We call that directly during cloning. Then the original fn is essentially just a wrapper, but uses DECL_CLONED_FUNCTION to get to the in-charge ctor. That uncovered abuse in add_method, which was happily passing TEMPLATE_DECLs to it. Let's not do that. add_method itself contained a loop mostly containing an 'if (nomatch) continue' idiom, except for a final 'if (match) {...}' check, which itself contained instances of the former idiom. I refactored that to use the former idiom throughout. In doing that I found a place where we'd issue an error, but then not actually reject the new member. gcc/cp/ * cp-tree.h (base_ctor_omit_inherited_parms): Declare. * class.c (add_method): Refactor main loop, only pass fns to ctor_omit_inherited_parms. 2020-07-28c++: better fixup_type_variantsNathan Sidwell1-6/+4
fixup_type_variants was almost doing all that finish_struct needs. May as well make it do it all. gcc/cp/ * class.c (fixup_type_variants): Copy TYPE_SIZE and TYPE_SIZE_UINIT. (finish_struct): Call it.
2020-07-27c++: Name as_base typeNathan Sidwell1-2/+7
The as-base type never got a name. For modules I needed to give it a name to serialize properly, and it's useful when debugging the compiler, so we may as well have it on trunk. There's also a bug where its fields can have NSDMIs from the main class. This happens to be silent on trunk, but can be a GC leak where we retain a deferred parse node there. (On modules it blows up, because we're not prepared to serialize deferred parse nodes, as they should never survive parsing. gcc/cp/ * cp-tree.h (enum cp_tree_index): Add CPTI_AS_BASE_IDENTIFIER. (as_base_identifier): Define. * decl.c (initialize_predifined_identifiers): Initialize as_base identifier. * class.c (layout_class_type): Name the as-base type. Zap NSDMI its fields may have.
2020-07-22c++: Don't add enums to class's decl_listNathan Sidwell1-5/+8
We don't need to add CONST_DECLs to a template decl's decl list. Also made the code flow a bit clearer. gcc/cp/ * class.c (maybe_add_class_template_decl_list): Don't add CONST_DECLs.
2020-07-14c++: Refactor some class fnsNathan Sidwell1-16/+17
Storing CLASSTYPE_AS_BASE in a local variable makes some code clearer (and textually no longer). For some reason we store a DECL in a variable called 'value', which is confusing. gcc/cp/ * class.c (build_base_field_1): Cache CLASSTYPE_AS_BASE. (build_self_reference): Rename value -> decl. (dump_class_hierarchy_1): Cache CLASSTYPE_AS_BASE.
2020-07-14c++: Comments & formattingNathan Sidwell1-4/+8
I found some bad formatting and misleading or incomplete comments during my spelunking around the c++FE. 2020-07-10c++: [[no_unique_address]] fixes. [PR96105]Jason Merrill1-7/+20
We were wrongly checking is_empty_class on the result of strip_array_types rather than the actual field type. We weren't considering the alignment of the data member. We needed to handle unions the same way as layout_nonempty_base_or_field. gcc/cp/ChangeLog: PR c++/96105 PR c++/96052 PR c++/95976 * class.c (check_field_decls): An array of empty classes is not an empty data member. 2020-07-01c++: Expose cloning form predicatesNathan Sidwell1-27/+41
A further adjustment of the function cloning. Rather than have copy_fndecl_with_name deduce whether a particular cdtor needs a vtt_parm and/or has inherited parms to drop, pass that information in from the caller. In particular build_cdtor_clones knows when its building the particular cdtors that might need these. On the modules branch I need to clone cdtors before the underlying class information is necessarily complete. There build_cdtor_clones is externally callable to facilitate that. gcc/cp/ * class.c (copy_fndecl_with_name): Add additional predicate args, do not deduce them locally. (copy_operator_fn): Adjust copy_fndecl_with_name call. (build_clone): Add vtt and inherited predicate args. Pass through to copy_fndecl_with_name call. (build_cdtor_clones): Likewise, pass through to build_clone as needed. (build_cdtor): Determine vtt and inherited here. * cp-tree.h (DECL_NEEDS_CTT_PARM_P): Delete.
2020-06-30c++: Tweak function cloning namesNathan Sidwell1-7/+15
On the modules branch I need to expose an intermediate step of the function cloning, but before that it'd be nice to rationalize the names somewhat, now that we also use that API for copying the equality operator. Jason's recent patch caused me some pain by altering the same code. I can only blame myself for not pushing some bits sooner. Anyway, this patch makes the newly renamed copy_fndecl_with_name static, and adds a wrapper copy_operator_fn, that takes an operator code. The cdtor cloning functions are renamed to explicitly note they expect cdtors. A followup patch will move some of the logic from copy_fndecl_with_name to build_cdtor_clones. gcc/cp/ * cp-tree.h (copy_fndecl_with_name): Rename to ... (copy_operatorn_fn): ... this. Change arg type. (clone_function_decl): Rename to ... (clone_cdtor): ... this. * class.c (copy_fndecl_with_name): Make static. (copy_operator_fn): New wrapper. (build_clones): Rename to ... 2020-06-24c++: Fix ICE with using and virtual function. [PR95719]Jason Merrill1-0/+4
conversion_path points to the base where we found the using-declaration, not where the function is actually a member; look up the actual base. And then maybe look back to the derived class if the base is primary. gcc/cp/ChangeLog: PR c++/95719 * call.c (build_over_call): Look up the overrider in base_binfo. * class.c (lookup_vfn_in_binfo): Look through BINFO_PRIMARY_P. gcc/testsuite/ChangeLog: PR c++/95719 * g++.dg/tree-ssa/final4.C: New test.
2020-06-17c++: implicit operator== adjustments from P2002.Jason Merrill1-29/+57
P2002R1, adopted at the February C++ meeting, made several refinements to the wording for operator<=>. This implements clarifications in how the implicit operator== is declared: as a duplicate of the operator<=>, with only the return type and name changed. To that end I factored out the declaration copying from build_clone. gcc/cp/ChangeLog: * cp-tree.h (copy_fndecl_with_name): Declare. * class.c (copy_fndecl_with_name): Split out from... (build_clone): ...here. (add_implicitly_declared_members): Add op== to TYPE_FIELDS. * method.c (implicitly_declare_fn): Use copy_fndecl_with_name. gcc/testsuite/ChangeLog: * g++.dg/cpp2a/spaceship-synth9.C: New test.
