2014-11-11Error out for Cilk_spawn or array expression in forbidden placesAndi Kleen3-34/+53
_Cilk_spawn or Cilk array expressions are only allowed on their own, but not in for(), if(), switch, do, while, goto, etc. The C parser didn't always check for that, which lead to ICEs earlier for invalid code. Add a generic helper that checks this and call it where needed in the C frontend. I chose to allow spawn/array for for init and increment expressions. While the Cilk spec could be interpreted to forbid it there too there didn't seem any reason to not allow it. One dark corner is spawn, array in statement expressions not at the end. Right now that's forbidden too. gcc/c-family/: 2014-11-10 Andi Kleen <ak@linux.intel.com> PR c/60804 * c-common.h (check_no_cilk): Declare. * cilk.c (get_error_location): New function. 2014-10-26In cp/error.c...Manuel López-Ibáñez2-11/+12
In cp/error.c, I separate the initialization of the diagnostic context from the initialization of the scratch pretty-printer (cxx_pp). This was suggested by Gabriel in the last review of the patch and now I realize it was a good idea. Now cxx_initialize_diagnostics is the equivalent version of c_initialize_diagnostics. To avoid having to make extern a bunch of functions, I moved it from cp-objcp-common.c to error.c. I moved the setting of diagnostic_format_decoder (global_dc) = c_tree_printer, from c_objc_common_init to c_initialize_diagnostics, and right after c_common_diagnostics_set_defaults. This mimics what is done in cxx_initialize_diagnostics. Moreover, in both c_initialize_diagnostics and cxx_initialize_diagnostics, the FE-specific pretty-printer is initialized first and then other settings are applied. This does not make a difference right now, but if in the future one wishes to touch something in the pretty-printer, it will not get overriden immediately. In fact, the code I removed in c_common_initialize_diagnostics, which sets line_cutoff to 80, is useless because the pretty-printer created here is actually never used, but overriden by the FE-specific pretty-printers. This also means that doc/invoke.texi was wrong. Finally, it is useless to set the maximum line length to 0 in the constructor of cxx_pretty_printer. It is the default anyway. gcc/c/ChangeLog: 2014-10-26 Manuel López-Ibáñez <manu@gcc.gnu.org> PR c++/53061 * c-objc-common.c (c_objc_common_init): Do not do diagnostics initialization here... 2014-10-17Fix pr61848, linux kernel miscompileMarkus Trippelsdorf1-13/+15
This patch cures the linux kernel boot failure when compiled using trunk gcc. At its heart, the problem is caused by merge_decls merging from the old decl to the new decl, then copying back to the old decl and discarding the new. When Jan moved some fields to the symtab, "copying back to the old decl" was lost for those fields. Really, it would be best if merge_decls was rewritten to merge everything to the kept decl, but here I'm just doing that for fields accessed via decl_with_vis.symtab_node. 2014-10-17 Alan Modra <amodra@gmail.com> gcc/c/ PR middle-end/61848 * c-decl.c (merge_decls): Don't merge section name or tls model to newdecl symtab node, instead merge to olddecl. Override existing olddecl section name. Set tls_model for all thread-local vars, not just OMP thread-private ones. Remove incorrect comment. gcc/cp/ PR middle-end/61848 * decl.c (merge_decls): Don't merge section name, comdat group or tls model to newdecl symtab node, instead merge to olddecl. Override existing olddecl section name. Set tls_model for all thread-local vars, not just OMP thread-private ones. Remove incorrect comment. 2014-10-17 Markus Trippelsdorf <markus@trippelsdorf.de> PR middle-end/61848 * g++.dg/torture/pr61848.C: New testcase. * gcc.c-torture/compile/pr61848.c: New testcase.
