The following patch implements a new builtin, __builtin_issignaling,
which can be used to implement the ISO/IEC TS 18661-1 issignaling
macro.
It is implemented as type-generic function, so there is just one
builtin, not many with various suffixes.
This patch doesn't address PR56831 nor PR58416, but I think compared to
using glibc issignaling macro could make some cases better (as
the builtin is expanded always inline and for SFmode/DFmode just
reinterprets a memory or pseudo register as SImode/DImode, so could
avoid some raising of exception + turning sNaN into qNaN before the
builtin can analyze it).
For floading point modes that do not have NaNs it will return 0,
otherwise I've tried to implement this for all the other supported
real formats.
It handles both the MIPS/PA floats where a sNaN has the mantissa
MSB set and the rest where a sNaN has it cleared, with the exception
of format which are known never to be in the MIPS/PA form.
The MIPS/PA floats are handled using a test like
(x & mask) == mask,
the other usually as
((x ^ bit) & mask) > val
where bit, mask and val are some constants.
IBM double double is done by doing DFmode test on the most significant
half, and Intel/Motorola extended (12 or 16 bytes) and IEEE quad are
handled by extracting 32-bit/16-bit words or 64-bit parts from the
value and testing those.
On x86, XFmode is handled by a special optab so that even pseudo numbers
are considered signaling, like in glibc and like the i386 specific testcase
tests.

The testcase in the PR demonstrates how it is possible for one
__builtin_setjmp_receiver label to appear in
nonlocal_goto_handler_labels list twice (after the block with
__builtin_setjmp_setup referring to it was duplicated).
remove_node_from_insn_list did not account for this possibility and
removed only the first copy from the list. Add an assert verifying that
duplicates are not present.
To avoid adding a label to the list twice, move registration of the
label from __builtin_setjmp_setup handling to __builtin_setjmp_receiver.

get_memory_rtx tries hard to come up with a MEM_EXPR to record
in the memory attributes but in the last fallback fails to properly
account for an unknown offset and thus, as visible in this testcase,
incorrect alignment computed from set_mem_attributes. The following
rectifies both parts.

This middle-end patch resolves PR c/106264 which is a spurious warning
regression caused by the tree-level expansion of modf, frexp and remquo
producing "expression has no-effect" when the built-in function's result
is ignored. When these built-ins were first expanded at tree-level,
fold_builtin_n would blindly set TREE_NO_WARNING for all built-ins. Now
that we're more discerning, we should precisely call suppress_warning
selectively on those COMPOUND_EXPRs that need them.

When lowering COMPLEX_EXPR we currently emit two VEC_EXTRACTs. One for the
lowpart and one for the highpart.
The problem with this is that in RTL the lvalue of the RTX is the only thing
tying the two instructions together.
This means that e.g. combine is unable to try to combine the two instructions
for setting the lowpart and highpart.
For ISAs that have bit extract instructions we can eliminate one of the extracts
if, and only if we're setting the entire complex number.
This change changes the expand code when we're setting the entire complex number
to generate a subreg for the lowpart instead of a vec_extract.
This allows us to optimize sequences such as:

When not optimizing, we can't do anything useful with unreachability in
terms of code performance, so we might as well improve debugging by turning
__builtin_unreachable into a trap. I think it also makes sense to do this
when we're explicitly optimizing for the debugging experience.
In the PR richi suggested introducing an -funreachable-traps flag for this.
This functionality is already implemented as -fsanitize=unreachable
-fsanitize-trap=unreachable, and we want to share the implementation, but it
does seem useful to have a separate flag that isn't affected by the various
sanitization controls. -fsanitize=unreachable takes priority over
-funreachable-traps if both are enabled.
Jakub observed that this would slow down -O0 by default from running the
sanopt pass, so this revision avoids the need for sanopt by rewriting calls
introduced by the compiler immediately, and calls written by the user at
fold time. Many of the calls introduced by the compiler are also rewritten
immediately to ubsan calls when not trapping, which fixes ubsan-8b.C;
previously the call to f() was optimized away before sanopt. But this early
rewriting isn't practical for uses of __builtin_unreachable in
devirtualization and such, so sanopt rewriting is still done for
non-trapping sanitize.

Both IFN_ATOMIC_BIT_TEST_AND_* and IFN_ATOMIC_*_FETCH_CMP_0 ifns
are matched if their corresponding optab is implemented for the particular
mode. The fact that those optabs are implemented doesn't guarantee
they will succeed though, they can just FAIL in their expansion.
The expansion in that case uses expand_atomic_fetch_op as fallback, but
as has been reported and and can be reproduced on the testcases,
even those can fail and we didn't have any fallback after that.
For IFN_ATOMIC_BIT_TEST_AND_* we actually have such calls. One is
done whenever we lost lhs of the ifn at some point in between matching
it in tree-ssa-ccp.cc and expansion. The following patch for that case
just falls through and expands as if there was a lhs, creates a temporary
for it. For the other expand_atomic_fetch_op call in the same expander
and for the only expand_atomic_fetch_op call in the other, this falls
back the hard way, by constructing a CALL_EXPR to the call from which
the ifn has been matched and expanding that. Either it is lucky and manages
to expand inline, or it emits a libatomic API call.
So that we don't have to rediscover which builtin function to call in the
fallback, we record at tree-ssa-ccp.cc time gimple_call_fn (call) in
an extra argument to the ifn.

The following makes the main gimple_build API take a
gimple_stmt_iterator, whether to insert before or after and
an iterator update argument to make it more convenient to use
in certain situations (see the tree-vect-generic.cc hunks for
an example). It also makes the case we insert into the IL
somewhat distinct from inserting into a standalone sequence in
that it simplifies built expressions the same way as inserting
and calling fold_stmt (..., follow_all_ssa_edges) would. When
inserting into a standalone sequence we restrict simplification
to defs within the currently building sequence.
The patch only amends the tree_code gimple_build API, I will
followup with converting the rest as well. The patch got larger
than intended because the template forwarders now use gsi_last
which introduces a dependency on gimple-iterator.h requiring
mass #include re-org across the tree. There are two frontend
specific files including gimple-fold.h just for some padding
clearing stuff - I've removed the include and instead moved
the declarations to fold-const.h (but not the implementations).
Otherwise I'd have to include half of the middle-end headers in
those files which I didn't much like.

The expansion of __builtin_iround{,f,l} etc. builtins in some cases
emits calls to a different fallback builtin. To locate the right builtin
it uses mathfn_built_in_1 with the type of the first argument.
If its TYPE_MAIN_VARIANT is {float,double,long_double}_type_node, all is
fine, but on the following testcase, because GIMPLE considers scalar
float conversions between types with the same mode as useless,
TYPE_MAIN_VARIANT of the arg's type is float32_type_node and because there
isn't __builtin_lroundf32 returns NULL and we ICE.
This patch will first try the type of the first argument of the builtin's
prototype (so that say on sizeof(double)==sizeof(long double) target it honors
whether it was a *l or non-*l call; though even that can't be 100% trusted,
user could incorrectly prototype it) and as fallback the type argument.
If neither works, doesn't fallback.

This patch is the main middle-end piece of a fix for PR tree-opt/98335,
which is a code-quality regression affecting mainline. The issue occurs
in DSE's (dead store elimination's) compute_trims function that determines
where a store to memory can be trimmed. In the testcase given in the
PR, this function notices that the first byte of a DImode store is dead,
and replaces the 8-byte store at (aligned) offset zero, with a 7-byte store
at (unaligned) offset one. Most architectures can store a power-of-two
bytes (up to a maximum) in single instruction, so writing 7 bytes requires
more instructions than writing 8 bytes. This patch follows Jakub Jelinek's
suggestion in comment 5, that compute_trims needs improved heuristics.
On x86_64-pc-linux-gnu with -O2 the new test case in the PR goes from:

[PR94193]
Commit 4343f5e25679 ("rtl: builtins: (not just) rs6000: Add builtins
for fegetround, feclearexcept and feraiseexcept [PR94193]") broke gcc
bootstra when building with --enable-checking=rtl[1].
The function expand_builtin_feclear_feraise_except was failing to
proper validate op0 predicate before emit_insn leading to the mismatch
type failure.

This optimizations were originally in glibc, but was removed
and suggested that they were a good fit as gcc builtins[1].
feclearexcept and feraiseexcept were extended (in comparison to the
glibc version) to accept any combination of the accepted flags, not
limited to just one flag bit at a time anymore.
The builtin expanders needs knowledge of the target libc's FE_*
values, so they are limited to expand only to suitable libcs.
