2022-01-25x86: acpi: Split out context creation from base tablesSimon Glass1-0/+12
At present acpi_setup_base_tables() both sets up the ACPI context and writes out the base tables. We want to use an ACPI writer to write the base tables, so split this function into two, with acpi_setup_ctx() doing the context set, and acpi_setup_base_tables() just doing the base tables. 2021-02-02common: Drop asm/global_data.h from common headerSimon Glass1-0/+1
Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed. In a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header files that had been pulled in, very indirectly. Finally, we have a few cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so remove that include. It is convenient to write a length value for preceding a block of data. Of course the length is not known or is hard to calculate a priori. So add a way to mark the start on a stack, so the length can be updated when known. 2020-07-17acpi: Support generation of ACPI codeSimon Glass1-0/+2
Add a new file to handle generating ACPI code programatically. This is used when information must be dynamically added to the tables, e.g. the SSDT. Initial support is just for writing simple values. Also add a 'base' value so that the table can be freed. This likely doesn't happen in normal code, but is nice to do in tests. The ASL compiler cannot handle C structures and the like so needs some sort of header guard around these. We already have an __ASSEMBLY__ #define but it seems best to create a new one for ACPI since the rules may be different. Add the check to a few files that ACPI always includes. 2020-04-16dm: core: Add basic ACPI supportSimon Glass1-0/+73
ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) is a standard for specifying information about a platform. It is a little like device tree but the bindings are part of the specification and it supports an interpreted bytecode language. Driver model does not use ACPI for U-Boot's configuration, but it is convenient to have it support generation of ACPI tables for passing to Linux, etc. As a starting point, add an optional set of ACPI operations to each device. Initially only a single operation is available, to obtain the ACPI name for the device. More operations are added later. Enable ACPI for sandbox to ensure build coverage and so that we can add tests.
