The BASER_FVP board variant is implemented on top of the BASE_FVP board config (which, in turn, is based on the Juno Versatile Express board config). They all share a similar memory map - for BASER_FVP the map is inverted from the BASE_FVP (https://developer.arm.com/documentation/100964/1114/Base-Platform/Base---memory/BaseR-Platform-memory-map) * Create new TARGET_VEXPRESS64_BASER_FVP target, which uses the same board config as BASE_FVP and JUNO * Adapt vexpress_aemv8a.h header file to support BASER_FVP (and rename to vexpress_aemv8.h) * Enable config to switch to EL1 for the BASER_FVP * Create vexpress_aemv8r defconfig * Provide an MPU memory map for the BASER_FVP For now, only single core boot is supported. 2021-07-23arm: vexpress64: juno: Enable distro_bootcmd functionalityAndre Przywara1-24/+34
The ARM Juno boards can be used as somewhat decent machines to run off-the-shelf distributions, with USB, SATA, GBit Ethernet and 8GB of DRAM. With stable DTs in the board's NOR flash this would work really nicely, however the default boot command is to fetch a kernel and an initrd from the on-board NOR flash, which sounds somewhat embedded. Include the config_distro_bootcmd.h header and define the available devices (starting with USB, to catch USB installer sticks) to make distributions and UEFI work out of the box. The NOR flash kernel functionality is still preserved as the last resort, should all other methods fail. 2020-05-07arm: juno: enable USBAndre Przywara1-0/+5
The Juno board features a standard compliant EHCI/OHCI USB host controller pair, which we can just enable. The platform data is taken from the device tree. This allows to use USB mass storage (the only storage on a Juno r0) for loading. At least on my board USB seems a bit flaky, I need two "usb reset" sequences after the "usb start" to detect an USB hard drive. 2020-05-07arm: juno: Fix Juno address variablesAndre Przywara1-15/+13
The U-Boot documentation explains that variables ending with "_r" hold addresses in DRAM, while those without that ending point to flash/ROM. The default variables for the Juno board pointing to the kernel and DTB load addresses were not complying with this scheme: they lack the extension, but point to DRAM. This is particularly confusing since the Juno board features parallel NOR flash, so there *is* a memory mapped NOR address holding a DTB, for instance. Fix the variables to use the proper names, changing initrd_addr to ramdisk_addr_r on the way, which seems to be more prevelant and documented. On the way adjust the FDT load address to be situated *before* the kernel, since users happened to overwrite the DTB by the kernel clearing its .BSS section during initialisation. Also remove the fdt_high and initrd_high variables (which were set to -1), to allow U-Boot moving those images around. This should avoid many problems in the future, but breaks loading Linux kernels < v4.2, since they expect the DTB to be loaded in the same 512MB region as the kernel. If you need to load such an old kernel, please set fdt_high to either 0xffffffffffffffff or 0xa0000000 (if you load the kernel to the beginning of DRAM). - In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_CONS_INDEX We have existing entries for this option in a number of places, with different guards on them. They're also sometimes used for things not directly inside of the serial driver. First, introduce a new symbol to guard the use of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX, so that in the case where we don't need this for the serial driver, but for some other use, we can still do it. Next, consolidate all of these into the single entry in drivers/serial/Kconfig. Finally, introduce CONS_INDEX_[023456] so that we can imply a correct value here to make the defconfig side of this smaller. This commit removes definitions of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE defined to be equal to CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE in numerous configuration files. We remove such definitions in two situations: - CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE is otherwise not defined in the board configuration file, which means the default value of CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE == 256 applies. In this case, the default value of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE == 512 (common/image.c) is suitable, as it is larger. - CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE is defined in the board configuration file, but to a value equal or less than 512. In this case, the default value of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE == 512 (common.image.c) is suitable, as it is equal or larger. 2016-12-03cmd: move CMD_PXE to KconfigYann E. MORIN1-1/+0
Currently, CMD_PXE is forcibly enabled in config_distro_defaults.h, so that general purpose distributions can rely on it being defined. This header is included, under conditions or not, by various archs or famillies of archs / SoCs. However, it is very possible that boards based on those SoCs will not have a physical ethernet connector at all, even if the have a MAC; for example, the Nanopi Neo AIR (sunxi H3) does not. It is also possible that network booting is absolutely not necessary for a device. However, it is not possible to disable the PXE command, as it is forcibly enabled and is non-configurable. But it turns out we already have a config option to build a distro-ready image, in the name of DISTRO_DEFAULTS. Move CMD_PXE out of the hard-coded config_distro_defaults.h into a Kconfig option, that gets selected by DISTRO_DEFAULTS when it is set. Signed-off-by: "Yann E. 2016-08-26ARM: Move SYS_CACHELINE_SIZE over to KconfigTom Rini1-3/+0
This series moves the CONFIG_SYS_CACHELINE_SIZE. First, in nearly all cases we are mirroring the values used by the Linux Kernel here. Also, so long as (and in this case, it is true) we implement flushes in hunks that are no larger than the smallest implementation (and given that we mirror the Linux Kernel, again we are fine) it is OK to align higher. The biggest changes here are that we always use 64 bytes for CPU_V7 even if for example the underlying core is only 32 bytes (this mirrors Linux). Second, we say ARM64 uses 64 bytes not 128 (as found in the Linux Kernel) as we do not need multi-platform support (to this degree) and only the Cavium ThunderX 88xx series has a use for such large alignment. We have a bunch of boards that define their vendor class identifier and client archs in the board files or in the distro config. Move everything to the generic Kconfig options. We're missing the distinction between i386 and x86_64, as I couldn't find any config variable that would tell us the difference. Is that really important to people? I guess not, so I left it out.
