AXS10x boards have preloader that reads SPI flash pages and searches special image header to fetch and load binary. Add tool, make target (bsp-generate) to generate update script and u-boot binary image with header for preloader. Also add script to default environment to apply updates. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. 2018-01-19ARC: devboards: Allow huge uImages (up to 128 MiB)Alexey Brodkin1-1/+1
Even though in production uImage usually is quite small as it contains just Linux kernel image during development it might be pretty convenient to have root-FS built into the same image. This commit removes definitions of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE defined to be equal to CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE in numerous configuration files. We remove such definitions in two situations: - CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE is otherwise not defined in the board configuration file, which means the default value of CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE == 256 applies. In this case, the default value of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE == 512 (common/image.c) is suitable, as it is larger. - CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE is defined in the board configuration file, but to a value equal or less than 512. In this case, the default value of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE == 512 (common.image.c) is suitable, as it is equal or larger. 2017-06-29axs10x: Move environment from I2C EEPROM to SD-cardAlexey Brodkin1-3/+6
With deprecation of I2C EEPROM we we left without a permamnent storage for U-Boot environment, but luckily we may simply use SD-card with FAT partition for that. Having environment on SD-card is much more convenient as it allows us to preserve all the settings when moving from one board to another. Moreover instead of 256 bytes of EEPROM we're now virtually unlimited in stuff being placed in environment like complicated scripts etc which are usually required in case of full-scale distros. This commit replaces legacy timer code with usage of arc timer driver. It removes arch/arc/lib/time.c file and selects CONFIG_CLK, CONFIG_TIMER and CONFIG_ARC_TIMER options for all ARC boards by default. Therefore we remove CONFIG_CLK option from less common axs101 and axs103 defconfigs. Also it removes legacy CONFIG_SYS_TIMER_RATE config symbol from axs10x.h, tb100.h and nsim.h configs files as it is no longer required. 2017-01-31mmc: move CONFIG_GENERIC_MMC to KconfigMasahiro Yamada1-5/+0
Now, CONFIG_GENERIC_MMC seems equivalent to CONFIG_MMC. Let's create an entry for "config GENERIC_MMC" with "default MMC", then convert all macro defines in headers to Kconfig. Almost all of the defines will go away. I see only two exceptions: configs/blanche_defconfig configs/sandbox_noblk_defconfig They define CONFIG_GENERIC_MMC, but not CONFIG_MMC. Something might be wrong with these two boards, so should be checked later. Anyway, this is the output of the moveconfig tool. Commit 7a777f6d6f35 ("mmc: Add generic Kconfig option") created a Kconfig entry for this option without any actual moves, then commit 44c798799f66 ("sunxi: Use Kconfig CONFIG_MMC") moved instances only for SUNXI. We generally do not like such partial moves. This kind of work is automated by tools/moveconfig.py, so it is pretty easy to complete this move. I am adding "default ARM || PPC || SANDBOX" (suggested by Tom). This shortens the configs and will ease new board porting. 2016-08-05arc: Rename AXS101 board to more generic AXS10xAlexey Brodkin1-0/+141
As of now we have 2 flavors of ARC SDP boards: 1) AXS101 - with ARC770 in ASIC 2) AXS103 - with ARC HS38 in FPGA Both options share exactly the same base-board and only differ with CPU-tiles in use. That means all peripherals are the same (they are implemented in FPGA on the base-board) and so generic board could be used for both. While at it: * Recreated defconfigs with savedefconfig * In include/configs/axs10x.h numerical sizes replaced with defines from linux/sizes.h for better readability.
