2024-04-10Merge patch series "Resolve issues with booting distros on x86"Tom Rini1-0/+2
Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> says: This little series reprises the EFI-video fix, fixes a USB problem and enables a boot script for coreboot. It also moves to truetype fonts for coreboot and qemu-x86, since the menus look much better and there are no strong size constraints. With these changes it is possible to boot a Linux distro automatically with U-Boot on x86, including when U-Boot is the second-stage bootloader.

Drop IDE and add NVME since this is more common now. Add ms so it is easier to search for tables in memory. Expand the command-line and print buffers so that we can deal with the very long ChromeOS command lines. (typically 700 characters). Enable BOOTSTD_FULL to get the full set up standard-boot options. Finally, expand the malloc() space so we can read large kernels into a bootflow. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Bin Meng <bmeng.cn@gmail.com>
2023-07-14disable NFS support by defaultPeter Robinson1-1/+0
While NFS is widely used in data centres, and private networks it's quite a nuanced usecase for device firmware. A lot of devices already disable it. Various network protocols should really be opt in, not opt out, because they add extra size and are potential attack vectors from a security PoV. In the NFS case it doesn't really make sense for a lot of devices like tables, SBCs etc. It's also something we don't really want for SystemReady-IR due to security concerns. 2019-11-20env: Finish migration of common ENV optionsTom Rini1-0/+1
- In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. 2018-08-20x86: coreboot: Add generic coreboot payload supportBin Meng1-12/+6
Currently building U-Boot as the coreboot payload requires user to change the build configuration for a specific board during menuconfig process. This uses the board's native device tree to configure the hardware. For example, the device tree provides PCI address range for the PCI host controller and U-Boot will re-program all PCI devices' BAR to be within this range. In order to make sure we don't mess up the hardware, we should guarantee the range matches what coreboot programs the chipset. But we really should make the coreboot payload support easier. Just like EFI payload, we can create a generic coreboot payload for all x86 boards as well. The payload is configured to include as many generic drivers as possible. All stuff that touches low level initialization are not allowed as such is the coreboot's responsibility. Platform specific drivers (like gpio, spi, etc) are not included.
