Most of the memory is being consumed by device binding code, more space needed for other data structures. Z-turn board has already hit the limit, others may follow soon. Measuring only the memory consumed in device_bind_common, I've got the following results (in decimal): root_driver: 108 mod_exp_sw: 108 amba: 120 serial@e0000000 aka uart0: 112 serial@e0001000 aka uart1: 88 spi@e000d000 aka qspi: 120 sdhci@e0100000 aka mmc0: 455 sdhci@e0100000.blk: 208 slcr@f8000000: 96 clkc@100: 72 (total) 1487 = 0x5cf of 0x600 Signed-off-by: Anton Gerasimov <tossel@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Michal Simek <michal.simek@xilinx.com>

2017-08-13spl: add hierarchical defaults for SPL_LDSCRIPTPhilipp Tomsich1-0/+3
With SPL_LDSCRIPT moved to Kconfig (and this being a 'string' config node), all the lingering definitions in header files will cause warnings/errors due to the redefinition of the configuration item. As we don't want to pollute the defconfig files (and values should usually be identical for entire architectures), the defaults are moved into Kconfig. Kconfig will always pick the first default that matches, so please keep these values at the end of each file (to allow any board-specific Kconfig, which will be included earlier) to override with an unconditional default setting. 2016-11-15tools: mkimage: Add support for initialization table for Zynq and ZynqMPMike Looijmans1-0/+7
The Zynq/ZynqMP boot.bin file contains a region for register initialization data. Filling in proper values in this table can reduce boot time (e.g. about 50ms faster on QSPI boot) and also reduce the size of the SPL binary. The table is a simple text file with register+data on each line. Other lines are simply skipped. The file can be passed to mkimage using the "-R" parameter. It is recommended to add reg init file to board folder. For example: CONFIG_BOOT_INIT_FILE="board/xilinx/zynqmp/xilinx_zynqmp_zcu102/reg.int Signed-off-by: Mike Looijmans <mike.looijmans@topic.nl> Signed-off-by: Michal Simek <michal.simek@xilinx.com>

2016-05-24ARM: zynq: Simplify zynq configurationMichal Simek1-42/+6
Extending Kconfig for adding new platform is a lot of work for nothing. Setting SYS_CONFIG_NAME directly in Kconfig and remove all dependencies on TARGET_ZYNQ_* options including SPL. As a side-effect it also remove custom init folder for ps7_init_gpl.* files. Folder is chosen based on device-tree file. Signed-off-by: Michal Simek <michal.simek@xilinx.com>
2015-12-18ARM: zynq: Add default ps7_init_gpl.c/h for ZYBONathan Rossi1-1/+0
Add ps7_init_gpl.c/h for the ZYBO board. This instance of the ps7_init is generated by the Vivado 2015.3 tools using the system configuration provided by Digilent located on their website. Update the kconfig so that the defconfig is not overrided to use the custom init ps7_init_gpl target by default. 2015-08-19ARM: zynq: drop "optional" from board select in favor of ZC702Masahiro Yamada1-1/+1
One disadvantage of commit a26cd04920dc (arch: Make board selection choices optional) is that Kconfig could create such an insane .config file that no board is selected. 2015-05-25ARM: zynq: add default ps7_init_gpl.c/h for Zed, MicroZed, ZC70xMasahiro Yamada1-0/+11
Due to licensing issues, the files ps7_init.c/h are not able to be distributed with U-Boot source code. Recent Xilinx tools also provide the GPL variants (ps7_init_gpl.c/h), compatible with U-Boot license. Prior to this commit, we had to copy ps7_init files into board/xilinx/zynq/ before the compile. To be more user-friendly, let's include ps7_init_gpl.c/h for Zedboard, MicroZed, ZC702, ZC706. These init code have been taken from the hwplatform_templates directory of Xilinx SDK 2014.4. You can still use customized ps7_init_gpl.c/h by enabling CONFIG_ZYNQ_CUSTOM_INIT. The recommended directory for storing them is now board/xilinx/zynq/custom_hw_platform, but board/xilinx/zynq is still supported for backward compatibility. The latter emits a warning message to prompt users to gradually switch to the new directory. 2015-05-25ARM: zynq: add separate configuration for ZC702 and ZC706Masahiro Yamada1-2/+12
Prior to this commit, ZC702 and ZC706 shared the same configuration and were built as follows: ZC702: make zynq_zc70x_defconfig && make ZC706: make zynq_zc70x_defconfig && make DEVICE_TREE=zynq-zc706 This commit introduces separate configuration for them, which makes the next commit much easier. Going forward, the recommended build commands are: ZC702: make zynq_zc702_defconfig && make ZC706: make zynq_zc706_defconfig && make Although the old work flow is still supported, CONFIG_TARGET_ZC70X has been marked as deprecated. If used, the warning message is shown to prompt users to switch to the new scheme. 2015-05-12arch: Make board selection choices optionalJoe Hershberger1-0/+1
