2019-05-18CONFIG_SPL_SYS_[DI]CACHE_OFF: addTrevor Woerner1-2/+2
While converting CONFIG_SYS_[DI]CACHE_OFF to Kconfig, there are instances where these configuration items are conditional on SPL. This commit adds SPL variants of these configuration items, uses CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(), and updates the configurations as required. 2018-06-29ARM: Introduce ability to enable invalidate of BTB with ICIALLU on ↵Nishanth Menon1-0/+8
Cortex-A15 for CVE-2017-5715 As recommended by Arm in [1], ACTLR[0] (Enable invalidates of BTB) needs to be set[2] for BTB to be invalidated on ICIALLU. This needs to be done unconditionally for Cortex-A15 processors. Provide a config option for platforms to enable this option based on impact analysis for products. NOTE: This patch in itself is NOT the final solution, this requires: a) Implementation of v7_arch_cp15_set_acr on SoCs which may not provide direct access to ACR register. b) Operating Systems such as Linux to provide adequate workaround in the right locations. c) This workaround applies to only the boot processor. It is important to apply workaround as necessary (context-save-restore) around low power context loss OR additional processors as necessary in either firmware support OR elsewhere in OS. 2018-05-07arm: v7R: Add initial supportMichal Simek1-0/+2
The Cortex-R* processors are a mid-range CPUs for use in deeply-embedded, real-time systems. It implements the ARMv7-R architecture, and includes Thumb-2 technology for optimum code density and processing throughput. Except for MPU(Memory Protection Unit) and few CP15 registers, most of the features are compatible with v7 architecture. So,reuse the same armv7 folder and introduce a new config CPU_V7R in order to differentiate from v7 based platforms. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini1-2/+1
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2018-01-09arm: Exercise v7_arch_cp15_set_acr even without errata fixupsSiarhei Siamashka1-20/+12
By applying this patch, we are ensuring that the code paths responsible for applying errata workarounds are also exercised on CPU revisions, which actually don't need these workarounds. Only CONFIG_ARM_ERRATA_621766, CONFIG_ARM_ERRATA_454179, CONFIG_ARM_ERRATA_725233 and CONFIG_ARM_ERRATA_430973 are covered by this patch (Cortex-A8). This improves code coverage when testing U-Boot builds on newer hardware. In particular, the problematic commit 00bbe96ebabb ("arm: omap: Unify get_device_type() function") would break both BeageBoard and BeagleBoard XM rather than just older BeagleBoard. As an additional bonus, we need fewer instructins and the SPL size is reduced. Signed-off-by: Siarhei Siamashka <siarhei.siamashka@gmail.com> Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>

2015-08-12ARM: Introduce erratum workaround for 801819Nishanth Menon1-0/+21
Add workaround for Cortex-A15 ARM erratum 801819 which says in summary that "A livelock can occur in the L2 cache arbitration that might prevent a snoop from completing. Under certain conditions this can cause the system to deadlock. " Recommended workaround is as follows: Do both of the following: 1) Do not use the write-back no-allocate memory type. 2) Do not issue write-back cacheable stores at any time when the cache is disabled (SCTLR.C=0) and the MMU is enabled (SCTLR.M=1). Because it is implementation defined whether cacheable stores update the cache when the cache is disabled it is not expected that any portable code will execute cacheable stores when the cache is disabled. For implementations of Cortex-A15 configured without the “L2 arbitration register slice” option (typically one or two core systems), you must also do the following: 3) Disable write-streaming in each CPU by setting ACTLR[28:25] = 0b1111 So, we provide an option to disable write streaming on OMAP5 and DRA7. It is a rare condition to occur and may be enabled selectively based on platform acceptance of risk. Applies to: A15 revisions r2p0, r2p1, r2p2, r2p3 or r2p4 and REVIDR[3] is set to 0. Note: certain unicore SoCs *might* not have REVIDR[3] not set, but might not meet the condition for the erratum to occur when they donot have ACP (Accelerator Coherency Port) hooked to ACE (AXI Coherency Extensions). Such SoCs will need the work around handled in the SoC specific manner, since there is no ARM generic manner to detect such configurations. So that the CONFIG_SPL_FEL option is not needed anymore. And the regular SPL binary, generated by the default u-boot build, is now also bootable over USB in the FEL mode. The SPL still can boot from the SD card too. A bunch of system registers need to be saved/restored in order to ensure that the IRQ handler still works in the BROM FEL code after getting control back from the SPL. This is done in the sunxi code instead of abusing ifdefs in 'start.S'. The decision whether to load the main u-boot binary from the SD card or return to the FEL code in the BROM is done at runtime. This fixes e.g. the abort exception handling path, which ended in double fault due to bad address in VBAR. 2013-03-18Merge branch 'master' of git://git.denx.de/u-boot-armTom Rini1-0/+19
Albert's rework of the linker scripts conflicted with Simon's making everyone use __bss_end. We also had a minor conflict over README.scrapyard being added to in mainline and enhanced in u-boot-arm/master with proper formatting. Conflicts: arch/arm/cpu/ixp/u-boot.lds arch/arm/cpu/u-boot.lds arch/arm/lib/Makefile board/actux1/u-boot.lds board/actux2/u-boot.lds board/actux3/u-boot.lds board/dvlhost/u-boot.lds board/freescale/mx31ads/u-boot.lds doc/README.scrapyard include/configs/tegra-common.h Build tested for all of ARM and run-time tested on am335x_evm. 2013-03-15Replace __bss_end__ with __bss_endSimon Glass1-1/+1
Note this is a tree-wide change affecting multiple architectures. At present we use __bss_start, but mostly __bss_end__. This seems inconsistent and in a number of places __bss_end is used instead. Change to use __bss_end for the BSS end symbol throughout U-Boot. This makes it possible to use the asm-generic/sections.h file on all archs. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2013-03-13ARM: implement some Cortex-A9 errata workaroundsStephen Warren1-0/+19
Various errata exist in the Cortex-A9 CPU, and may be worked around by setting some bits in a CP15 diagnostic register. Add code to implement the workarounds, enabled by new CONFIG_ options. This code was taken from the Linux kernel, v3.8, arch/arm/mm/proc-v7.S, and modified to remove the logic to conditionally apply the WAR (since we know exactly which CPU we're running on given the U-Boot configuration), and use r0 instead of r10 for consistency with the rest of U-Boot's cpu_init_cp15().
