The newer update-copyright.py fixes file encoding too, removing cr/lf
on binutils/bfdtest2.c and ld/testsuite/ld-cygwin/exe-export.exp, and
embedded cr in binutils/testsuite/binutils-all/ar.exp string match.

These headers define the register numbers for each port to implement
the sim_fetch_register & sim_store_register interfaces. While gdb
uses these, the APIs are part of the sim, not gdb. Move the headers
out of the gdb/ include namespace and into sim/ instead.
|
|
I don't see why include/gdb/fileio.h is placed there. It's not
installed by "make install", and it's not included by anything outside
of gdb/gdbserver/gdbsupport.
Move its content back to gdbsupport/fileio.h. I have omitted the bits
inside an `#if 0`, since it's obviously not used, as well as the
"limits" constants, which are also unused.

This commit brings all the changes made by running gdb/copyright.py
as per GDB's Start of New Year Procedure.
For the avoidance of doubt, all changes in this commits were
performed by the script.
|
|
The gdb/callback.h & gdb/remote-sim.h headers have nothing to do with
gdb and are really definitions for the libsim API under the sim/ tree.
While gdb uses those headers as a client, it's not specific to it. So
create a new sim/ namespace and move the headers there.
|
|
Now the simulator can be loaded via gdb using "target sim".
|
|
This allows gdb to quickly dump & process the memory map that the sim
knows about. This isn't fully accurate, but is largely limited by the
gdb memory map format. While the sim supports RWX bits, gdb can only
handle RW or RO regions.

gdb/ChangeLog:
Update copyright year range in all GDB files.
|
|
This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py
script.
Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid
copyright header
(gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc).
As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit
leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header
was sent to gcc-patches first.

The cr16 port has a lot of translation/offset logic baked into it, but
it all looks like copy & paste from the d10v port rather than something
the cr16 port wants.
|
|
Since these headers merely have enum's, drop the extern C linkage
markings. Helps to reduce the copy & paste spam.

These functions are only used in the interp module, so there's no point
in exporting them and declaring them in the external sim interface.

When tracing, we often want to display the human readable name for the
various syscall/errno values. Rather than make each target duplicate
the lookup, extend the existing maps to include the string directly,
and add helper functions to look up the constants.
While most targets are autogenerated (from libgloss), the bfin/cris
targets have custom maps for the Linux ABI which need to be updated
by hand.

Pull out the duplicated dv_sockser_install prototype from the tconfig.in
files and put it in the one place it gets used -- sim-module.c. This is
still arguably incorrect, but it's better than the status quo where the
tconfig.in has to include header files and duplicate the dv-sockser func.
The tconfig header is meant to be simple and contain a target defines.

On Windows, a recent gnulib update imported the lstat module, and
this caused a remote-sim.c build failure in struct host_callback_struct:
In file included from /[...]/gdb/remote-sim.c:34:0:
/[...]/gdb/../include/gdb/callback.h:93:9: error: duplicate member '_stati64'
int (*lstat) (host_callback *, const char *, struct stat *);
^
What happens it that gnulib's stat.h makes the following defines:
/* Large File Support on native Windows. */
#if 1
# define stat _stati64
#endif
and then:
#if 1
# if ! 0
/* mingw does not support symlinks, therefore it does not have lstat. But
without links, stat does just fine. */
# if !(defined __cplusplus && defined GNULIB_NAMESPACE)
# define lstat stat
# endif
So, the following fields in struct host_callback_struct...
int (*stat) (host_callback *, const char *, struct stat *);
int (*fstat) (host_callback *, int, struct stat *);
int (*lstat) (host_callback *, const char *, struct stat *);
... get translated to...
int (*_stati64) (host_callback *, const char *, struct _stati64 *);
int (*_fstati64) (host_callback *, int, struct _stati64 *);
int (*_stati64) (host_callback *, const char *, struct _stati64 *);
... which causes two fields to have the same name.
This patch fixes the issue by renaming the stat-related fields
by adding a "to_" prefix, similar to what is done in GDB's
target_ops vector.

It is rare for people to want to modify the cmd arg. In general, they

the string locally so they can bang on it.

- The Mach exception/signals escaped the TARGET_ -> GDB_ prefix change
done a while ago, but there's no real reason for that. I grepped
for TARGET_EXC and fixed all found, which unsurprisingly, means
darwin-nat.c needed fixing. I think the change there is as obvious
and trivial as it can get, so I'd be quite surprised if this broke
anything there somehow.
- GDB_SIGNAL_LAST's description string was unnecessarily inconsistent
with the enum name.

The common sim code has slightly unfinished support for these already,
but even arch ports are unable to handle these if the common header does
not define them. This is because the generated callback header includes
simple common gdb/sim headers only which causes it to skip the new ARGV
syscalls. Plus, it isn't like providing these in the common header will
break any sim targets which don't want them.

For now, only the sub-command name is completed. No support yet for

currently, nothing is completed, and the basic "help sim" is fairly
obtuse as to what exactly the "sim" command accepts.
