These aren't used anymore, so punt them all.

Now that all ports have moved to creating libsim.a in the top-level,
drop all the support code to create it in a subdir.
|
|
The objects are still compiled in the subdir, but the creation of the
archive itself is in the top-level. This is a required step before we
can move compilation itself up, and makes it easier to review.
The downside is that each object compile is a recursive make instead of
a single one. On my 4 core system, it adds ~100msec to the build per
port, so it's not great, but it shouldn't be a big deal. This will go
away of course once the top-level compiles objects.

This commit is the result of running the gdb/copyright.py script,
which automated the update of the copyright year range for all
source files managed by the GDB project to be updated to include
year 2023.
|
|
These manual settings were necessary when we weren't doing automatic
header dependency tracking. That was changed a while ago, and we use
automake now to do it all for us. As a result, many of these vars
aren't even referenced anymore.
Further, some of the source file generation (e.g. .c files, or igen,
or cgen outputs) were moved to the common automake build, and it takes
care of dependency tracking for us with the object files.
|
|
This commit brings all the changes made by running gdb/copyright.py
as per GDB's Start of New Year Procedure.
For the avoidance of doubt, all changes in this commits were
performed by the script.

Use the new target-newlib-syscall module. This is needed to merge all
the architectures into a single build, and d10v has a custom syscall
table for its newlib/libgloss port.
This allows cleaning up the syscall ifdef logic. We know these will
always exist now.
|
|
These rules don't depend on the target compiler settings, so hoist
the build logic up to the common builds for better parallelization.
|
|
Update the gencode rules to use the silent build helpers.
|
|
The gdb/callback.h & gdb/remote-sim.h headers have nothing to do with
gdb and are really definitions for the libsim API under the sim/ tree.
While gdb uses those headers as a client, it's not specific to it. So
create a new sim/ namespace and move the headers there.

Some spots in the sim build used manual dependencies, and some spots
did a compilation by hand but did not use the automatic dependency
tracking code. This patch fixes these spots.
I didn't touch ppc, because it doesn't use the common Makefile code.
I also didn't touch objects that are for the build machine, because
automatic dependencies don't work for those.

These use the same pattern as seen in the opcodes/ dir and in automake
in general (ish). This helps simplify the boilerplate for building and
linking build-time code, and fixes some inconsistency in flag usage.
For rules that were compiling+linking in a single step, split them into
separate steps so we can apply the correct set of options. This matches
automake behavior too.
|
|
This hasn't been initialized anywhere for years. It used to be for
passing in the path to libiberty, but that stopped happening long ago.
Delete it to simplify the build logic.

gdb/ChangeLog:
Update copyright year range in all GDB files.
|
|
This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py
script.
Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid
copyright header
(gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc).
As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit
leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header
was sent to gcc-patches first.

Pretty much all targets are using this module already, so add it to the
common list of objects. The only oddball out here is cris and that's
because it supports loading via an offset for all the phdrs. We drop
support for that.
|
|
Now that all arches (for the most part) have moved over, move sim-stop.o,
sim-reason.o, and sim-reg.o to the common object list and out of all the
arch ports.
|
|
Now that we have access to the sim state everywhere, we can convert to
the common engine logic for overall processing. This frees us up from
tracking exception state ourselves.
|
|
Now that all the targets are utilizing CPU_PC_{FETCH,STORE}, and the
cpu state is multicore, and the STATE_CPU defines match, we can move
it all to the common code.
|
|
This makes these two objects available to all sims by default.
|
|
While cleaning up stale make rules, one too many were deleted. The
build system autogenerates static rules, but not generated files.
|
|
A lot of cpu state is stored in global variables, as is memory handling.
The sim_size support needs unwinding at some point. But at least this
is an improvement on the status quo.
|
|
This hook is used only when linked into gdb, and d10v doesn't have a gdb
port anymore. Punt it.
|
|
|
|
In preparation for converting to nrun, call the common functions that
are needed. This doesn't produce any new warnings, and the generated
code should be the same.
|
|
We want people to stop using the run.c frontend, but it's hard to notice
when it's still set as the default. Lets flip things so nrun.c is the
default, and users of run.c will get an error by default. We turn that
error into a warning for existing sims so we don't break them -- this is
mostly meant for people starting new ports.

gdb/ChangeLog:
Update year range in copyright notice of all files.
|
|
|
|
Two modifications:
1. The addition of 2013 to the copyright year range for every file;
2. The use of a single year range, instead of potentially multiple
year ranges, as approved by the FSF.
